Lafayette Animal Aid is proud to introduce its newest addition to the organization, Kathy Anderson, as incoming shelter director. Kathy brings her experience as community outreach and operations manager at Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode near Sacramento, Calif., to lead LAA’s operations and community growth.
In 2012, Kathy and the Animal Outreach team placed 3rd in the ASPCA Rachael Ray $100k Challenge to adopt homeless and abandoned animals to forever families. With Kathy’s creative approach, the organization surpassed its own adoption goal by rehoming over 1,700 companion animals in 3 months.
With Kathy’s strategic guidance, LAA hopes to increase local live-release rates from municipal shelters, spread community awareness and education about spay/neuter programs and humane animal care, and improve the lives of pets and people through companion animal adoption.
Kathy plans to make the cross-country relocation from California to South Louisiana to join LAA by late April/early May.
